Customized Men's Wool Coat

Gomon Wool Coats are built one pattern per person for a perfect fit that's comfortable and genuinely warm, not just heavy. Choose from hundreds of wool fabrics, cut to layer properly over a suit jacket or a sweater, and order more than one at a time if you're covering the whole household or a team for winter.

One Pattern, One Person — A Coat Cut to Layer Over What You're Already Wearing

A coat has to fit properly over a suit jacket or a heavy sweater, which is exactly where off-the-rack sizing tends to fall apart — too tight through the shoulders once you're layered up, or so oversized everywhere else that it looks like a tent. Gomon cuts a separate pattern for every customer based on his own measurement guide submission, accounting for what you'll actually be wearing underneath, so the coat fits the way it's meant to when it's doing its job.

Hundreds of Wool Fabrics for Real Warmth

This collection is built around genuinely warm winter cloths — heavier wool and wool-cashmere blends, dense melton, and herringbone overcoat fabrics with real weight to them, not the lighter weaves used in a blazer or suit jacket. Our fabric guide breaks down warmth level and finish for each option, so it's easy to match the fabric to how cold it actually gets where you live.

Comfortable and Warm, Without the Bulk

A coat that's cut to your own shoulders and sleeve length keeps you warmer than an oversized "one size fits most" coat, not less — loose fabric flapping at the wrists and gaping at the collar lets warmth escape. A properly fitted coat also moves with your arms instead of restricting them, so getting in and out of a car or reaching for a door handle doesn't turn into a fight with your own sleeve.

Perfect Fit, Every Time — How We Get There

What's the difference between an overcoat, a topcoat, and a peacoat?

An overcoat is the heaviest and longest, built for real cold. A topcoat is lighter and shorter, meant for milder winter days. A peacoat is shorter still, double-breasted, and originally a naval style. Gomon builds all three to your own measurements.

How should a coat fit if I'm wearing it over a suit jacket?

There should be enough room through the shoulders and chest to move freely with a suit jacket underneath, without the coat looking oversized when worn on its own. Mention this when submitting your measurements so it's accounted for in the pattern.

What if the fit isn't right when it arrives?

Each order comes with a service that allows for free modifications up to three times within 30 days after delivery., and our customer care team can help with fit questions before or after your order arrives.
